Image-guided interventions involve the use of special imaging techniques such as fluoroscopy (live time X-rays), endoscopy (small cameras), ultrasound, and computed tomography (CT) to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in pets.

These techniques are also referred to as interventional radiology and interventional endoscopy. Image-guided interventions are performed using small or no incisions making them minimally invasive techniques.
There are many advantages to image-guided interventions including: shorter hospital stays and recovery times, reduced complications, treatment for conditions with no other available options, and reduction in risks to pets compared to conventional therapies.

Endoscopic laser lithotripsy is a procedure used to remove bladder and urethral stones in dogs and cats. A veterinarian uses a small, flexible tube with a camera (endoscope) to see inside the bladder and urethra, then employs a laser to break the stones into tiny pieces.
