WHO WE ARE

CVETS, Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma & Specialty, is a new specialty/ER hospital in need of experienced veterinary surgeons. Our 9000-square-foot facility opened in May of 2018 and is growing rapidly. The facility includes a dedicated ICU, multiple operating rooms, a radiology suite, dedicated facilities for endoscopy, chemotherapy administration and special procedures, ultrasound, a 16-slice CT scan, on-site MRI, and multiple specialists (including 24-hour emergency, internal medicine, ophthalmology, surgery, and radiology). We are located in northeast Columbia, SC.

THE POSITION

We are seeking a surgeon who is interested in being on the ground floor of a progressive and rapidly developing facility, and who is interested in working in a non-corporate environment with the potential for ownership in the future. Possibilities include the ability to be involved in the hiring of your support staff, involvement in acquiring equipment for the service, ownership opportunities, and flexibility in designing your work schedule.

Columbia, located in central South Carolina, is a city of approximately 1 million with a consistent growth pattern. Located 1.5 hours from the beach and the mountains, Columbia is ranked in the top 50 best places to live by US News and World Report. With a small-town feel, lots of southern charm, and large city luxuries, it has a revitalized downtown, active nightlife, numerous trendy restaurants, and excellent schools.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPENSATION

The position includes a base salary plus a percentage of gross production. The benefits package includes medical, dental and long-term disability insurance, 401k retirement plan, discounted pet care, continuing education allowance, reimbursement of liability, licenses, specialty dues, and a signing bonus.
