Dr. Tai Li Nelson is an east coast native and grew up in Alexandria, Virginia. She received her Veterinary degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020 where she took special interest in small animal surgery working as an on call OR assistant and managing the college’s wildlife ward. Dr. Nelson is currently completing the first step toward specialty training– a one-year small animal rotating internship here at CVETS. She graduated cum laude from George Mason University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2016. She is interested in pursuing specialty training in small animal orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, traveling, spending time with her cats, and bird watching.
Dr. Rachel McNeill is originally from Raleigh, North Carolina. She attended North Carolina State University for both her undergraduate and vet school years. In 2015 she graduated with a degree in Zoology including a minor in Biotechnology, and in May of 2020 she received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She is currently completing a post-graduate internship year at CVETS rotating through all of the different specialties the hospital has to offer. After her internship she is excited to continue work in emergency medicine, a field in which she has worked since 2012. Dr. McNeill also enjoys spending time with her animals (her horse, Gumby, her cat, Scout, and her dog, Jo), nerding out over The Lord of The Rings, and going Contra dancing (before COVID).
